Hot summer job offers sunbathers the chance to earn £200 a week

A garden furniture specialist is looking to recruit five sunseekers to test out its new garden furniture range.

Whatshed.co.uk wants five individuals to become professional sunbathers, as part of the site’s first ‘Parasol Patrol’ team.

The ‘Parasol Patrol’s’ main objective is to review upcoming garden products, rating each item’s comfort, style, practicality and overall value. Products set to be tested include; sun loungers, outdoor furniture, cushions, parasols and other garden accessories.

A selection of items will be sent to each professional’s home address for them to review for the duration of one month. In return for working five hours a week, Whatshed.co.uk will pay £40 an hour, as well as cover expenses for ‘sunbathing essentials’, such as sunblock, food and beverages, to ensure each candidate is ‘comfortable’ whilst working.

The company has stipulated that safety is a priority, therefore individuals will be required to wear factor 50 sunblock at all times whilst working. The contract also confirms that sunblock must be reapplied a minimum of every two hours and candidates must work for no longer than three hours across an entire day.

No qualifications are needed for the role however the advertisement states that applicants must be living in the UK, over the age of 18 and have access to a garden or outdoor space with good sun exposure.

Due to ‘unpredictability of the weather’ the company has confirmed that if it rains the working hours can be delayed and the employment period can be extended.

Kate Fromings from Whatshed.co.uk, said: “We haven’t had the best luck with the weather over the last couple of month, however according to the forecasts we are in for some much needed sun.

“We are always looking to improve our products and have a few exciting things in the pipeline, so we thought why not take advantage and put our products to the ultimate test.

“In my opinion, there is nothing better than relaxing in the sun, so we’re expecting a lot of people to apply to be a part of our Parasol Patrol team. If you think you could be a great judge on what makes the best garden products and fancy soaking up the sun, please get in touch.”

Those interested in getting paid to sunbathe can apply for one of the five positions here. Closing date is June 11.
