Witham bar unveils new beer garden in time for sunny weather

A disused space outside a popular city nightspot has been given a new lease of life with a smart makeover to turn it into a beer garden.

The owner and managers of The Vault Bar, in Witham, have transformed the derelict outdoor space surrounding it, after weeks of hard work by owner Lee Kamen, and Wendy Deacon and Andy Barley, who run the bar.

Lee said: “Wendy and Andy run the venue and between the three of us we have re-designed the full inside ground floor area, and also created a new much bigger outside area to seat 140 people and include an outdoor stage area..

“The ground floor also is now much bigger with a newly-designed bar.”

The venue often has live acts on a weekend, which can now perform on the newly-installed outdoor stage.

And starting from July, Wednesday nights will be ‘Friendly Faces’ night, which caters specifically for vulnerable adults and those with additional needs.

The business has only recently re-opened, given that they didn’t previously have an outdoor space to open, and Lee said they’re coming back with a bang, with a monthly country night starting soon.

He said customers are delighted with the facelift: “Feedback has been absolutely fantastic from the public, and the council and police visited at the weekend and were highly delighted at the cleanliness and lay-out, and the beautiful outside area.”
