Despite England’s loss it will be taco lovers’ gain, as Taco Bell UK still plans to reward fans with free crunchy tacos to celebrate the national team’s performances this summer.
It means that, all day on Taco Tuesday, July 13, customers at Hull’s Taco Bell, at The Beacon, Brighton Street, will be able to claim a delicious free taco.
In a tweet on Saturday, the Mexican-inspired chain promised free tacos for the nation if the England squad were victorious in the final of Euro 2020, but even though the team lost to Italy on penalties, Taco Bell UK has still come good for fans.
Gino Casciani, general manager for the Mexican-inspired Taco Bell UK and Europe, said: “We wanted to provide football fans across the UK with something to cheer this week and what better way to do that than with free tacos.
“England fans should be proud of their country and their own support, and we want to thank them the best way we know how.”

To honour one of the country’s youngest stars, Taco Bell renamed its Wembley restaurant Taco Bellingham.
Mr Casciani said: “We may also be a new kid on the block in the restaurant scene but since Taco Bell launched in the UK, we’ve always surprised our fans by sharing taco joy. What better way to do that now than with free tacos
“This is our way of helping the nation celebrate a historic moment together.”
