ATIK nightclub to host Hull ‘Freedom Day’ party tonight

ATIK in Hull will be hosting a re-opening party tonight on ‘Freedom Day’ as coronavirus restrictions are lifted across the country allowing nightclubs to fully open once again.

The hospitality industry has been one of the hardest hit during the pandemic with wide ranging restrictions directly impacting pubs, bars and nightclubs.

Nightclubs in particular have struggled under restrictions with almost all functionality of venues outlawed through rules against standing and drinking, social contact and group sizes.

To pass the long months of lockdown, ATIK has been running their ‘Pub in a Club’ nights but now the Dagger Lane site is set to open its doors for the first big party of the summer.

The night club is marking Freedom Day with Quids In: The Reopening Party, from 9pm tonight, opening until 3.30am tomorrow (Tuesday, July 20).

The club posted frequently asked questions about their Covid-19 policy on their Facebook page: “Covid Entry requirements update.

“We’ve had a number of guests messaging in regarding our policies from Monday 19th July on entry requirements. We’ve complied 3 of the most asked questions into the below graphics to help answer any questions you may have moving into our full reopening.

“To summarise:

• Covid passports / Proof of vaccination / Negative test will not be required on entry.

• Masks will not be required on entry, but can be worn within the venue.”

The full text of the graphics they posted said: “Will proof of a negative covid test or proof of vaccination be required on entry?

  • Guests will not be asked to provide proof of vaccination or a negative test on entry. The large majority of our guests will not have been offered the chance to become fully vaccinated.

“Will masks be required on the dance floor?

  • Masks will not be compulsory inside our venues or on the dance floor however, those that choose to wear one can do so. Please be respectful of those that choose to wear PPE and face masks in out venue.

“What extra steps are being taken to keep team members and guests safe?

  • Sadly, covid will not disappear after the 19th July. We have state of the art air flow and filtration systems in our venue that helps refresh the venue’s air. We will continue to run strict cleaning procedures to help sanitise all services and stations across our venue, along with offering stations for hand sanitiser for our guests and team members.”
