‘My condolences’ £30 meal served up at The Shard has Twitter in hysterics

Spending £30 on a meal at London’s tallest landmark won’t get you a giant-sized serving.

A photo tweeted by 21-year-old social media user @raveen_x has gone viral after she posted a picture of the less-than-impressive meal offered to her at The Shard.

For £30 she got a piece of chicken, potato and a blob of brown sauce (the fries in the background of the picture below cost an additional £5), reports MyLondon.

Comments raged in the replies, with one writing: “I don’t think she would’ve minded the prices if the food was nice… that chicken looks like it’s been in the sun far too long!!”

Another penned: “I’d actually cry… imagine skipping lunch because you know you’re going to The Shard and this is what they come out with for £30. My condolences.”

One helpful user pointed out that a far cheaper alternative is just down the street – the iconic pie chain Manze’s.

“What did you expect? ? For future reference, Manze’s is about 200 metres down the road,” he wrote, attaching a picture of a pie.

“This is £7,” he added.
