Hull’s Calum Scott sends 60,000 fans wild as he makes stage comeback

Like everyone, it has been a “tough” 18 months for Hull singer Calum Scott, so it is no surprise that his return to the stage would be epic.

The Hull singer, who shot to fame after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent, previously had chart success with “Dancing On My Own” and he released his album “Only Human” in 2018.

Since then, he has been busy behind the scenes, but told Hull Live how the pandemic had hit performers and musicians hard.

Calum said he has not stopped smiling since the epic event

Calum was previously travelling to countries across the globe, performing on major stages, but when the pandemic hit he was confined to his Hull home which became his studio for months.

He spent time working on his second album, and now the 32-year-old is back with new music and zest for performing.

He confessed that during lockdown he had the opportunity to make “one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever had the honour of being part of” named “Biblical”.

It was the Britain’s Got Talent star’s first performance in Romania

Another one of his album songs named “You Are The Reason” has taken off with over 600 million Spotify streams.

Over the weekend the singer performed in his first major concert for a long time which he confessed made him “not stop smiling”.

He has now shared epic snaps from the stage at the Untold Festival in Romania as he appeared delighted to perform in front of a big crowd once again.

Calum couldn’t stop smiling on stage over the weekend

In a grateful Instagram post Calum shared: “I don’t swear on here often but that felt so f***ing good!!!!!

“To be in a country I’ve never been before and have such an amazing welcome, to perform ‘Where Are You Now’ with my boy @lostfrequencies for the first time and all in front of 60,000 real people…

“I literally haven’t stopped smiling!!!

“Live music is BACK! Than you @untoldfestival for having me for such a crazy night but most of all, thank you ROMANIA!! I WILL BE BACK!!”

And that’s not all the star has been doing; he recently took over the Viking FM breakfast show for a week.

Sharing how delighted he was to be part of the show he said: “”I’ve listened to Viking FM throughout my life; on the way to school, on the way to my office job at Hull City Council and now I tune in as soon as I am within range again after coming back from my travels!

“I’ve always said that I wanted to do something like this but I also specifically wanted to do it with Viking – not only because Alex and Ellie are my favourite radio presenters (no, Alex didn’t ask me to say that).

“But I’ve listened to Viking growing up as a fan, then had my own music played on the station and have had the amazing job of being their Cash for Kids ambassador, helping raise money for such a great cause.”
