Hull Indian with ‘rave reviews’ named best Asian restaurant in whole city

The Crooked Skewer has been crowned the best Asian restaurant in the Humber region and recognised nationally for its work.

The popular Princes Avenue spot has been commended for its food, atmosphere, price point and innovation.

Not only did the curry-specialist spot win best across the region, but it was also runner up for most innovative restaurant in the UK.

It has been crowned with a five-star rating in the British Asian Restaurant Awards 2021 – up against a fierce competition of 500 leading restaurants and chef.

With over 13,000 Facebook likes, The Crooked Skewer offers “bottomless dining with flair” with all you can eat on one plate for a bargain price.

The establishment often hosts challenges and supports charitable causes in the local area.

Owner and head chef Aminual Choudhury attended the event with his staff.

He has since shared the delight for his recognition adding: “Mom this is for you. Hardship makes you who you are. Nothing comes easy in life.

“I want to thank everyone in Hull for making our restaurant multi-award winning.

“It it the reviews that you guys give us that make it. Although our restaurant might not be in the grandest of locations, it is the people and the customers that make the restaurant.

“We try to give the best food at a cost that doesn’t hurt your pocket. There are many restaurants you go to like fine dining places where you pay a lot but question the value for money.”

He continued: “We have kept the elements of those restaurants but slashed the prices so everyone can enjoy in our city – and it has paid off.
