A true-crime documentary of a loving Driffield dad who was brutally murdered by his neighbour in 2018 will be broadcasted on Five Star tonight.
The episode of The Nightmare Neighbour Next Door titled ‘The Crossbow Killer’ will air tonight at 9pm.
Lawrence had sneaked into their home that night and shot Shane just before turning on Miss Sudgen, leading to a massive police manhunt.
Humberside Police searched the village of Southburn, scouring through the surrounding fields.
On the third day of the hunt, Lawrence’s body was discovered in a remote area of North Yorkshire inside a campervan.
The family said Lawrence had sought revenge on the couple when he was evicted because they told his landlord he smoked cannabis and there were also complaints Lawrence had been repeatedly playing loud music.
The episode will delve into details of the tragedy with Miss Sudgen recalling the night the horror took place.
She discusses living next to Lawrence, his threats to them over the year and the night they came back from dinner to find him wielding a crossbow in their home which led to the fatal attack.
Also interviewed is Gemma Vine, a solicitor who is helping Laura’s campaign to change the law on purchasing crossbows, and former Hull Live reporter Alex Grove, who covered the story extensively.
The show airs at 9pm on Five Star.
