Ben Shephard was left open mouthed and stunned by the answer given by one of the contestants during the latest episode of hit ITV game show Tipping Point.
College lecturer Jack, from Hemel Hempstead, left Ben bewildered with his answer to a Mary Berry question right at the start of the show.
Just seconds after Ben had introduced the players to the rules, the Good Morning Britain host asked the first question of the show: “On Mary Berry’s website, the ingredients for the sponge in her Victoria Sponge Cake include which POULTRY product?”
Despite Ben’s emphasis on the word ‘poultry’, Jack buzzed in and stalled.
Eventually he blurted out: “… butter?”
The camera cut back to a rather confused and shocked looking Ben who had his mouth wide open in awe of what Jack had just given as his answer.
“B… butter, Jack?”, stammered Ben, as the other players began to laugh.
Amused at his own error, Jack corrected himself said: “Eggs.”, but Ben wasn’t about to let him live it down that easily.
“Do you know many chickens that lay butter?”, asked Ben.
“No, I can’t say I do.”, chuckled Jack.
“Can’t say you do, I’m sorry, you’re wrong, obviously it was eggs, the poultry product we wanted you to give us – butter was entertaining though, Jack!
“Your mates will enjoy that as well!”, joked Ben.
Jack replied: “Yeah, they will!”
Ben himself earlier teased the clip on Twitter, unable to contain his excitement for the show airing at 4pm.
Fans of the show were keen to share in Jack’s mistake with some comments of their own.
