A local business in Cottingham is cooking up lots of attention with its incredible loaded cheesecakes.
Mama’s Cheesecakes, founded by Jade Robinson, opened for business in 2020 during the lockdown and has gone from strength to strength.
The bakes were originally created for Jade’s partner, a key worker, to take to work as a treat to share with colleagues.

The cakes are vibrant, creatively decorated, and are sure to impress on any occasion, from birthdays to weddings.
In a post on Facebook, Jade said: “I do a mix of both fully loaded occasion cheesecakes and standard cheesecakes. I also have wedding packages and event packages!”
Available flavours include salted caramel, Chocolate Orange, Milky Way, Daim Bar, Oreo, Biscoff, Mint Aero, Malteser, lemon, strawberry, Nutella and Kinder Bueno.
Seasonal creations are also available, including Christmas themed cakes and Halloween cheesecake pots.
Prices start from £17 for the standard cheesecakes and £35 for the more creative loaded cheesecakes. Local delivery is available for an additional £2.
Speaking to Hull Live, Jade said: “I started during the first lockdown and it just spiralled! I brought my sister in to help and ever since then we’ve done it together!
“Business slows a little when lockdowns are lifted as people are out and about and have other things to spend money on but overall we are steady and happy with how it’s going.”
Talking about their most sought-after flavours, Jade said: “Our most popular cheesecakes are probably the chocolate loaded ones. Customers can choose any flavour cheesecake and then pick from a variety of toppings, but Galaxy and Kinder are the most popular.
“Our personal favourite is the salted caramel!”
As well as creating birthday cakes, Mama’s Cheesecakes cater for all different kinds of events.
Jade said: “We have done some very special events. We did a Jewish festival which was really fun and we’ve also done quite a few weddings.
“Every event is fun as each customer is so different and we get to produce on a large scale.
“I’d love to have a shop eventually and be able to make it a full time job. It’s just getting the premises and building the pot before we take the leap.”

Speaking about how the business started, Jade said: “I decided to start making them to sell during the first lockdown. I was making them for my partner to take to work as he was a key worker and they are a nice little treat.
“Loads of people said how good they were and I should start selling them so I did.
“It’s taken a lot of patience and trial and error but we’re finally there and I’m really happy with the cheesecakes we send out.”
