Sainsbury’s launches limited edition black bun Halloween sand’witch’

Those who are afraid of spicy flavours, beware this Halloween as Sainsbury’s has launched a new hellish sandwich.

The limited edition Spicy Hell’s Chicken Sand‘witch’, is inspired by the creepiest of crawlies and is sure to add a delightful fright to lunch breaks.

The sand‘witch’ is served in a distinctive black charcoal bun, packed with spicy Korean-inspired gochujang marinated chicken chunks, tasty Red Leicester cheese, coleslaw and crunchy apollo leaf.

And although it makes the perfect spooky Halloween treat, there is certainly nothing frightful about the taste.

Priced at £3, it is available throughout the month of October.

Shuwen Tan, Sainsbury’s product developer, said: “Knowing that our customers love getting involved with Halloween, we wanted to offer them something innovative and different this year – adding spookiness without compromising on flavour.

“Packed with succulent Korean-inspired spicy chicken and finished off with a charcoal bun for added drama, it’s a delightfully terrifying addition to our Food-to-Go range this autumn.”

Sainsbury’s is also selling fresh pumpkins for carving and treat bags of Cadbury, Mars and Milky Way chocolates for trick or treating.

Shoppers can also buy a range of fancy dress costumes, as well as decorations.

With prices starting from £8, you can transform your home into a frightful lair with skeleton heads, pumpkin-shaped fairy lights, a skull and rose door wreath and an inflatable ghost.

Elsewhere, Tesco has released a Halloween food range in time for October 31.

Stand out products include a Franken Cake for £8. It’s made with a chocolate sponge, chocolate flavoured frosting and decorated with coloured soft icing and edible Frankenstein decorations.

If you want to get busy in the kitchen – but keep the mess to a minimum – Tesco is also selling a Halloween biscuit decorating kit.

The Decorate Your Own Haunted Graveyard Biscuit Kit is priced £4.50, and comes with chocolate shortcake biscuits, including four shaped as gravestones and two shaped as bats.
