Timmy Mallett to star in East Yorkshire Christmas event at Sunday market

Timmy Mallett will make a special appearance in East Yorkshire this month, with the iconic TV presenter starring in a Christmas event at Skirlington Market.

The event is going ahead on Sunday November 28 and promises to deliver some Christmas cheer to the Yorkshire coast.

The following press release was issued by the organisers of the market: “Following last years disappointment of Covid cancellation we are excited to welcome Timmy Mallett to Skirlington.

“Timmy is a TV presenter, broadcaster, and artist who many remember from growing up in the 80s and 90s.

“He is known for his striking visual style, colourful glasses, loud shirts, and giant pink foam mallet known as “Mallett’s Mallet”, as well as his “utterly brilliant!” and “blaaah!” catch phrases. Timmy has also had number one singles and appeared on I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here in 2008.

“Timmy will be on stage at 11.30am with his Itsy Bitsy, Wacaday, Mallett’s Mallet show. He will then tour the market with Santa on his sleigh and have photos with our visitors.”

The event will also provide food and drinks for guests, as well as a range of further attractions.

The organisers said: “There are free mince pies and warmed mulled wine for the adults and free sweets for the kids, live music, a festive donkey display and our amazing collection of traders.

“They offer everything from local seafood, fruit and veg, a meat auction, clothing, fancy candles and wax melts to the latest TVs.

“It it set to be an ‘utterly brilliant’ day out at the coast.”
