However, since the audience are live, leaks over the final result can occur, as those watching in the flesh cannot keep the secret for 24 hours.
This week, it looks like an almighty upset may be on the cards, as the dancer deemed stronger by fans has been sent home as a result of the dance off.
Trusted leak source The Strictly Spoiler has hinted who will be axed on Sunday night’s show – and Twitter has reacted in fury over the alleged result.
One furious fan tweeted: “Hopefully this is wrong,” with another reacting: “omg I’ve seen a spoiler that I really hope is wrong.”
A third tweeted: “Please tell me that is a joke.”
While another fan threatened violence, tweeting: “If those strictly spoilers are right I AM THROWING FISTS.”
“I’ve seen the spoiler and I’m shocked who they eliminated,” yet another posted.
With the weeks towards the final whittling down where the new king or queen of the ballroom will be crowned, just a few celebrities and Strictly professionals remain.
TV presenter AJ Odoudu and dance partner Kai Widdrington, BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker and dance partner Nadiya Bychkova, master baker JohnWhaite and partner Johannes Radebe and CBBC presenter Rhys Stephenson and dancer Nancy Xu remain in the contest as of Saturday night’s show.
While Eastenders star Rose Ayling-Ellis and dance partner Giovanni Pernice, Chef Tilly Ramsay and dance partner Nikita Kuzmin and singer Tom Fletcher and dancer Amy Dowden also remain in the contest.
BBC Breakfast host Dan was the bookies favourite to be eliminated this weekend.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said ahead of Saturday night’s show: “Dan has survived on Strictly so far thanks to strong public support but his scores are struggling to keep up now and we think this weekend could spell the end of the line.
“He is the favourite to be eliminated from the competition next.”
Rose and Gio were firm favourite to be declared the winners.
Harry added: “It’s looking like Rose is guaranteed to be crowned winner already, the huge favourite in the betting at odds of just 1-5.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Sunday night at 7:15pm.
